innovation Program manager - Innovation and Challenge Programs

Salary: $120,000 - $175,000/year


Position Summary: 
Blue Clarity is seeking a Full-Time Program Manager (PM) who will provide programmatic and engineering expertise and leadership throughout the lifecycle of an Innovation Challenge/competition. The PM will serve as the day-to-day liaison between the competing teams and challenge sponsor, a Federal Agency. S/he will manage and oversee team progress in their design, development, deployment, and operation of nanosatellites.* Occasional international (Europe) and domestic travel may be required for this position.

Responsibilities will include: 
- Maintaining Program Schedule
-Identifying and Addressing Program Risks
-Ensuring timely communication with stakeholders 
-Lead the evaluation of technical and programmatic aspects of products and provide -recommendations for issue resolution
-Conduct periodic update calls with each Solver team to ensure open communications
-Report on the progress of team solutions, including all development, testing, launch, initialization, and system operations
-Coordinate and deliver Sponsor, supporting Agencies, and Contractor feedback to teams on all milestone deliveries
-Develop and maintain a risk assessment tracker for each team
-Develop and maintain an activity schedule for each team Design and oversee virtual and in-person events for the Challenge
-Coordinate multiple weekly progress tag-ups with various stakeholder groups Recommend improvements with challenge execution
-Facilitate support from Federal Agencies to test and evaluate deliverables.

Skills and Experience:

Required:
-Bachelor’s Degree 
-At least 7 years of technical program management experience, including direct experience in spacecraft development efforts.
-At least 5 years of people management experience in program management
-Strong technical background with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery lifecycle
-Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
-Systems thinker, a quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions
-Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, data science representatives.
-Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability and results
-Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, data science representatives.

Desired:
-Masters degree
-10+ years of technical program management experience
-7+ years of people management experience
-PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
-Space launch experience 
-Knowledge of world magnetic data, expertise with magnetometry 
-Cyber experience 
-Geospatial experience
-Experience with Intellectual Property rights
